Postdoctoral Position Available Immediately

Project: Researching the Quantum-Mechanics Basis of Olfaction

Training: PhD in (bio) physics, chemistry, or materials science and related disciplines

Experience and skills: in scanning probe microscopy (STM or AFM) is important in order to measure and interpret tunneling currents across the tunneling junction in the absence and presence of odorant molecules and reconstituted odorant receptors. Some experience in molecular biology and protein engineering would be a “plus” but is not absolutely necessary.

Interests in quantum chemistry and molecular dynamics computational approaches are desirable in order to successfully collaborate with quantum chemistry theorists who will model inelastic tunneling of electrons through free and receptor-bound odorant molecules.
